Packing Up For Kids' Activities with Susana from Living La Vida With Love
We caught up with one of our dear Wanderwild families, Susana, Gabryella, and Bailey to talk about how they pack up, stay organized, and get out the door for all of their activities!
Wanderwild: Hi Susana! It’s so great to catch up with you. We can tell from following you that your family has been busy lately. Tell us what sports and activities your kids are involved in.
Susana: Hi Katie and Kelly! Gabryella plays soccer & takes singing classes. Bailey is in gymnastics.
Wanderwild: Too funny, we’ve got kids in the same sports and activities this year. We can relate to going from shin guards to leotards!
As a mom with kids in sports, your schedule is packed! What are your tips to stay organized and on schedule?
Susana: One of my top tips on staying organized is by writing everything on my monthly calendar. That includes practice, games, and everything else that comes along with life.
Wanderwild: That’s so smart, and we agree that keeping a monthly calendar with everything laid out, AND where the kids can see it is helpful. We personally also put it on our phones, either using Calendar or by taking a pic of the monthly calendar to reference on the go. No matter how we do it, it helps the kids learn how to navigate the activity schedule if they can also see it!
So we know there are always things to pack for practice. What do you pack for your girls?
Susana: We like to pack a water bottle, an extra outfit, and a healthy snack to have after practice.
Wanderwild: We agree, and especially the back-up outfit! Honestly as our kids get older the back-up outfit is still the key from avoiding us having to run back home in case of a spill or change of plans to run out to dinner.
Can we ask why you love taking your Wanderwild packs along to practice?
Susana: Because what is life without our Wanderwild packs? 😃 They are so durable and the pockets are all the perfect size to hold the things we need. They are the best packs to use for any activity. They have become part of all of our adventures.
Wanderwild: You are too kind :) We love that we’re a small part of your daily activities and adventures. Any advice for other parents with kids in sports?
Susana: Make sure you do whatever it takes to stay organized. It can get very overwhelming if you have multiple children in sports. Don’t worry though! Once you get the hang of your routine, you’ll kill it!
Wanderwild: Thanks, Susana! We agree that establishing a routine and having backpacks dedicated to after school activities helps us stay organized. Watching little ones do what they love is one of the best parts of parenthood! We’re so grateful to #gowanderwild with you.
