Serving Others In Honor Of MLK
Each year we excitedly anticipate a day of service to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As a family we talk about the mission and work of Dr. King, his messages of equality, and how we're blessed by his legacy to this day. If you're looking for ways your family can honor MLK Day with acts of service, see below!
1 \ Participate in a community clean up at a local park, including picking up litter, raking leaves and debris, and creating new flower beds.
2 \ Collect blankets, sleeping bags, and socks for a local homeless shelter.
3 \ Make a family trip to the grocery store to buy non-perishable items and drop off at a local food pantry.
4 \ Create and deliver encouraging notes to a local assisted living center or hospital.
We're so grateful for the memory of Dr. King, and his prompt for us to question as a family, "life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'what are you doing for others?'". If you're participating in an MLK Day of Service, be sure to tag us using #wildwithheart.
